Halifax has been fun, but also very exhausting. The trip here on Wednesday consisted of getting up at 3am, going to the Indianapolis airport, transferring in Chicago, transferring in New York, and finally landing in Halifax around 4pm after we had to switch planes because of a malfunction.

When we arrived in New York we ran into one of our clients, who I didn’t really know - but knew of. I shook his hand, sat down with my back to him and waited for the plane.

We arrived a bit late and set up for the show. My co-worker inquired as to whether I thought the client was gay, I said I didn’t know but if he was I was getting him drunk and making out with him. Later on that day I could have swore I saw him shoot me several looks - but I’m not the kind of person to really pay much attention to that kind of stuff, so I shrugged it off for the most part. My other co-worker knew him better, so out of curiosity I inquired about his sexuality. My team!! But I still didn’t think too terribly much about it because he was hella cute, in my opinion, and so in my mind he was out of my league.

My co-worker though decided to play match-maker, I told her she could inquire I didn’t figure there was much harm. Later the second night I decided I wanted to text message him, so I got his number from my co-worker and sent a few messages but his replies seemed “uninterested”, the co-worker said that he obviously wasn’t interested so I should just give up. Defeat! I did however invite him to the casino with us.

Later that night we went to the casino. I went in the hole, but I did ride $15 on a table for a good hour. I was up at one point but blew it all. I was playing with the “interest” and he went broke, so he left. Then he came back later and won $850 fucking dollars in one hand. He sat clear across the table from me, and I didn’t know what to say. We all left the casino and I guess as we were leaving my co-worker decided to play matchmaker and he told her that he was definitely interested.  I text messaged him and told him that I was sorry for the high school antics. He said it was cute and asked me if I wanted to get drinks the following night. I, of course, agreed.

So this is getting long, so I’ll just skip ahead to the next night. We texted each other all day (and come to find out they were costing me 50 cents a pop! Ouch!) and we managed to work it out so we could have a “date” without chaperons. I made reservations for an Italian restaurant and had a taxi waiting when he arrived.

Things went really well, he was super sweet and super cute. Conversation was pretty much non-stop, dinner was amazing. He even ordered us a bottle of wine and paid. Our server told us about a great martini bar, so we decided to go there after dinner. The martini bar was amazing and we each had two martinis there, that’s where it got a little more flirty with the touches and looks. It was cute. After that we decided to check out the gay bar - obviously he wanted to make out - and I was down.

The bar was dirrty and dead. But we decided to stick it out and play pool. We played a few games where I got my ass kicked, the flirty-ness was kicked up a notch and after he won a game he said, “Can I at least get a hug?” and I said, “No” and walked up and kissed him. It seemed like a good moment. So we played some more pool, and drank a whole lot more. We danced some more and he suggested we go back to his hotel room. It was my last night there, so I decided it was possibly a “now or never” moment. So I agreed.

All in all, it was a really really great date. And although I swore off long distance things after the one I did in Chicago, I would be curious about seeing if this goes anywhere, even if casual. We’ll see, I like having options. He said he’d like to come visit in Indy, that could be fun, he said it drunk, so we’ll see. Haha.

That’s the brief of what happened while I was here that was non-work related. I’m currently sitting here in Halifax killing time. Our plane got majorly delayed. We got here at noon, it’s now 7:40pm. I think we do actually get to board soon, but however it’s iffy if we will make our Chicago connection - and if that’s the case we will most likely be renting a car and driving from Chicago. I’m dead-fucking-tired to say the least so that option does not appeal to me at all. However, I just want to be home, so I guess it’s a “whatever it takes” moment.
