April 16th, 2008

I officially went to the best concert of my life last night. Hands down. You’re going to cringe - but it was Hanson. They put on one hell of a show, I was a little optimistic but it was amazing.

I went with my friend Mike who is also a fan, and we first got seated next to a drunk girl and her “boyfriend” whom we thought was gay, then halfway through the opening act she turns to me and goes, “Do you think my boyfriend’s gay? My mom says he is, she says I’m stupid and I’m wasting my time. I think he’s gay. What do you think?”

After the concert started we moved up to the front and I got tacked by a 4′ 7″ drunk girl in poka-dots. At first I was completely appalled and scared. Once we worked out that her crush on me was because I was gay and she was a fag-hag-magnet, things went much smoother. From there out craziness ensued. I rocked out with her and danced until I was drenched in sweat. Totally not what I was expecting to happen. Then the best part of the night came…

The girl and her friend had stepped away, so I was just hanging out there in the aisle with Mike and her dad. They start playing MmmBop - her dad comes over and starts dancing with me. No joke, hands down best concert moment in my life.

The two girls were going to come to Metro to party afterwards, but apparently one of them passed out before they made it there. They want me to go to Bloomington with them for another concert on Friday - and I’d be up for it except that I found out it was Illinois, not Indiana - which is much further away.

Still - I’d be up for another night of all that awesomeness.
